Tips for Time Management: Delegation of Tasks
We could all use some good tips for time management. In today’s fast-paced, high tech world, expectations are high for people to get lots of work done in a short period of time. By utilizing a few handy tips and techniques you will quickly find yourself making the most efficient use of your precious.
Getting SMART to Better Time Management
Effective time management is essential when it comes to getting the most accomplished in your day. This is particularly true when you have the task of monitoring the productivity of others. Effective delegation really helps to free up your time.
A common one of the tips for time management is SMART. This stands for specific, measurable, agreeable, and realistic and timebound. It is a way to help you remember how to set objectives for people. Following the SMART method ensures that you have properly delegated the task.
Specific
Be exact in what you are asking. Don’t say “here’s some filing” instead be specific. “Could you file these papers in these files by 10am this morning please?”
Make sure you have said clearly what it is you want the other person to do.
Measurable
Make sure that you can measure the outcome. In the above example it’s clear that the person needs to have filed the papers by 10 am. This is measurable and so you’ll be able to know whether the person succeeded or not.
Agreeable and Realistic
This is a really important part of the delegation process. Make sure that the person you are passing the task to thinks that it is possible. In the above task is you gave the person five hundred papers it might not be possible to complete the task.
You need to make sure the task is agreed and is realistic.
Timebound
Finally you need to put a closure time on the task. You could have said “can you file these papers in these files?” The person could then take two months to do this. They’d be doing what you asked but not what you meant.
So always add a timescale.
If you follow the SMART method then you’ll soon find that it’ll become one of your favourite tips for time management. After a while you’ll find that you naturally follow the SMART method. In practise you probably use one or more parts of it now. So hopefully it won’t be a big jump for you to move up to the next level and use it every time you delegate a task.
Finally the great thing about getting SMART is that other people will love it too. You’ll find that the people you are delegating to really appreciate that you are so clear on your direction.

The Four Ways To Clean Any Surface -
Often times I am asked by Clients how to clean a particular surface. A moldy driveway, cobwebs from the eaves, dirty siding, etc.
“What Would You Do, Brent?” I admit…I love this.
Most people are under the impression they can just pull out their pressure washer, hook it up and start spraying. This is okay in plenty of instances, but can sometimes be a huge time-waster and even a careless choice depending upon the surface being cleaned.
What Does That Mean? - It means the surface can be damaged beyond repair. You may have a clean front porch, but if you used too much pressure, it will leave scars everyone will see. Was it worth the cleaning?
Also, just using water can seriously lengthen the amount of time it takes to clean a surface - depending upon the amount of dirt, mold, grime, whatever is on the surface.
Using a combination of cleaning options will save time, energy and headaches with scarring or discoloring surfaces. These tips have helped me tremendously and I recommend you consider each option the next time you have a cleaning project with a pressure washer. Remember, using them in combination will make the project easier to handle.
1. Heat - If you had to wash the dishes tonight, would you use hot water or cold water? Hot, right? Why? It cuts the grease faster. So it is true in pressure washing, but not necessarily a good solution for the homeowner or pressure washing business who focuses on residential communities.
Let me explain:
Upside: A hot water pressure washer will cut at least 30 of the time it takes to clean a surface. When cleaning a really large surface, there is simply no better choice.
Downsides: Cost - These machines are very expensive to buy and operate. They use diesel and unleaded at the same time, virtually doubling your operating costs. Considering the cost of unleaded and diesel these days, it can easily add $25 or more to the cost of just running the machine.
Effect on Environment - These machines are not good to operate around plants because of the hot water. Imagine running 200 degree water, at 4 gallons per minute, for 1 hour, next to your flower bed. You’ve just put 240 gallons of hot water on the roots of your plants. How long do you think they will live?
Special Note: In Austin, we have Aquifer Recharge Zones and it is illegal to operate a hot water pressure washer over these zones without a special filtration system (usually $4500 for this). The Reason - The hot water releases too much dirt too fast for the sewer system to handle and the water must be filtered before it can go down the sewer pipes. The cost for violation of this rule - First Offense - $10,000 for the pressure washer and $10,000 for the person who hired the pressure washer. Ouch!
2. PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) - How much pressure are you applying to the surface? Every guy likes power. Many think the more power they have, the better it must be. Keep your PSI below 4000PSI and you will be right in most scenarios.
Having enough pressure in your machine will allow you to clean at a deeper level and make fewer passes over a surface to get it clean. Too much pressure will take off the top layer of a surface or damage it beyond repair. When using PSI as the tool of cleaning, always approach a surface from a distance, then moving in slowly for more pressure, until you find the right distance for cleaning ability without harming the surface.
3. Water Volume - GPM - How much water is being applied to the surface per minute? This actually has a great deal to do with cleaning power and any commercial unit will produce at least 3 GPM.
I never understood this concept until I was cleaning a beautiful cobblestone bridge next to the 18th tee box of an exclusive golf course community. The bridge sat very low over a “sometimes” creek and occasionally flooded when it rained. The flood waters always left a thick layer of mud so every car driving by would spread the mud around. Even though I had 3 workers with commercial grade machines, it would have taken all day to get this bridge completed. The mud was just too much.
Finally, one of the golf course workers suggested we use a 1″ hose from the 18th tee box. What I didn’t know is the hose allowed 35 GPM and had such force, it pushed the mud around like it was nothing. Instead of taking 8 hours to clean with 3 workers, I cleaned the bridge in 45 minutes with one hose. I then realized the cleaning power of water in volume. Amazing!
4. Chemical - This can be the best tool for anyone from the beginner to experienced professional. Why? Because it loosens the dirt and mold and keeps you from applying too much pressure to a surface before realizing it is too much.
You won’t have to get too close to the surface and typically mold and dirt will peel off like a hot knife through warm butter. This also makes for a great time saver. Take off about 25 water and 50% Simple Green works great as a mild soap and really helps when cleaning wood, siding or just about anything with mold or dirt on the surface.
Make sure to thoroughly wet down the plants immediately around the area you plan to use the chemical around, apply the chemical, wash off, and repeat wetting down the plants again to flush the system.
Bleach - This works great on limestone, sandstone or any area that can handle bleach. You might need a little instruction with this so feel free to call me with any questions.
Armed with this information, you can make your cleaning time safer, more efficient and easier to complete.

In relationships, cheating is a no-no. Nowadays, more people are becoming unfaithful. If I ask you now: “Is she faithful?” Will you be able to answer with a definite YES? Lucky are the people who can be truly positive about their girlfriends’ fidelity. However if I ask questions such as:
“Is she suddenly not able to meet up with you as often?”
“Does it feel like she’s hiding something?”
…and then you suddenly answered YES, then this might be the best time for you to learn about the signs of a cheating girlfriend. Though this is not easy to accept and I understand how depressing it is, knowing a few tips would help you avoid being in a doomed relationship:
1. Little or almost always no time for you
In the past, you spend a lot of time with her. Now you see less and less of each other, with her saying how she is always busy or how tired she always is, etc. Though they may be valid reasons, there is a big possibility that those are only excuses for her to spend time with the “other guy”.
2. Is secrecy becoming a frequent thing?
Check whether she is being too secretive. Does she often take phone calls out of the house? Does she keep on sending messages with her mobile phone and then suddenly shifts to another activity when you’re near? Know that frequent secrecy is definitely one of the signs of a cheating girlfriend.
3. Too Many Inconsistencies
If the relationship is running smoothly, I know for a fact that there is always the presence of consistency, especially when it comes to the things you both talk about. I know how hard it is when you suddenly realize that she keeps on telling you stories that are all of different versions. This is in fact one of the most important signs of a cheating girlfriend that you should be aware of.
Know that cheaters, because of their mixed emotions, are usually inconsistent.
4. Does she suddenly delete computer files or messages on her mobile phone especially when you’re over her shoulder looking?
If you see that she is suddenly doing this when she doesn’t in the past and when she suddenly doesn’t want you browsing through her mobile phone, then, it is normal for you to feel hurt and become suspicious. Sad to say, you are seeing one of the signs of a cheating girlfriend; the more you ignore the warnings, the more your bad feelings will intensify.
5. Does your intuition screams at you that something is wrong?
Are there times when you feel that something is amiss but you just cannot place your finger on it? If this happens, observe first and gather enough evidence.
There are a lot more signs of a cheating girlfriend and the above are just a few of them. Note that you cannot just accuse her of being unfaithful right away. Research more and gather proof before acting. Remember that a happy relationship is one of the factors of having happy in life.

Each year, our society is having a great fast paced. And we are all looking for the ways to help us complete the things that we need to do in the possible shortest time so that we can add additional time to have for ourselves. This will lead us to get in trouble if we doing things fast that mistakes our made. If this case happened, this will tend us to spend additional time correcting our mistakes that can create a cruel cycle. There are times when we simply need to slow things down.
It is strange, to see how few of them really look deeply into the benefits of time management involving with so many businesses taking up and so many forceful cost cutting measures. Having an effective management of time is like something having an effective management of any other resources that can save your company a huge amount of money if it is properly implemented. With the huge cost of outsourcing and moving operations overseas, it seems like every measure should be taken at home to improve efficiency before such a drastic solution is proposed. Effective time management enables you to lead a more balanced life by helping you find the time and energy to devote to all the important areas of your life.
In order for us to become more organize, one of the best things that we can do is to help ourselves first. Organization can help us manage our time better. There are many benefits of time management. We can be more productive as well as more efficient. Effective time management increases your productivity allowing you to accomplish more with less effort. Improving your productivity is not about doing more in less time, it is really about accomplishing more by working less that we can save our money and time. This creates a happy employer and when this reflects back to you, it may mean additional compensation in money or time off.
Although the modern understanding of the benefits of time management is a little bit different than as it was originally planned, the concept still goes back about as far as Henry Ford and the invention of the assembly line. Of course, performance management is still nothing new. Different steps were taken to improve the program constantly, resulting in less work for the same product.
It is easy to see the benefits of time management on an assembly line. Time management benefits can little bit less obvious if you are in an office environment. This does not mean that they are not important! The benefits of time management will show up in the books, but it will take a while. After all, the tasks that people have are usually a little bit less concrete. Rather than manufacturing a car, you have to type up financial reports, communicate with clients, and do other similar business tasks.
All of us release the benefits of time management, but implementing the skills may be something new to us. And i try to have the list of work well for me. When I make lists at the beginning of each day I find I am more organize to get the things done that are needed. My daily routine everyday is to write down the things that i would like to as well as needed to accomplish for that day. Then i prioritize the list in order of what is the most important to accomplish. For example if I need to meet with a co-worker on a different floor and also deliver reports to another department I will do this at the same time. This way I am away from my desk for one period of time thus cutting down on the amount of running around I need to do. I also do as much correspondence at one time as possible to limit the number of trips to the printer, copier and mail room. Also I find when I am out and about away from my office I spend time greeting co-worker and doing other things that can eat away at my time. Some of these techniques may seem rigid, however the benefits of this time management pay off by getting things done and creating more time by the end of the week. Since I have been doing my work following these methods I find that I am often able to leave early at the end of the week.
The individual performance and the job satisfaction of any particular worker is the greatest benefits of time management. Our job duties increases and can seem so overwhelming without having an effective time management training. After all, when a worker is used to getting a certain amount accomplished in a single day, adding additional tasks on is never welcome. The benefits of time management training is that it allows you to provide a way to ease workers into taking on additional responsibilities. It will be able you to cope up if you provide with adequate training. If not, you can often lose some of your best, most seasoned employees to greener fields. No matter what employee benefits you offer, if you stress them out too much, or stretch their time too thin, they will leave for another company.
Most people think of time management as a tool to save time, get organized, or get more things done. While time management does address each of these things, I like to think of time management as a tool for improving the quality of your life. More information available at our web site.

When we look at a certain object, a painting for example — we won’t be able to appreciate what’s in it, what is painted and what else goes with it if the painting is just an inch away from our face. But if we try to take it a little further, we’ll have a clearer vision of the whole art work.
We reach a point in our life when we are ready for change and a whole bunch of information that will help us unlock our self improvement power. Until then, something can be staring us right under our nose but we don’t see it. The only time we think of unlocking our self improvement power is when everything got worst. Take the frog principle for example —
Try placing Frog A in a pot of boiling water. What happens? He twerps! He jumps off! Why? Because he is not able to tolerate sudden change in his environment — the water’s temperature. Then try Frog B: place him in a luke warm water, then turn the gas stove on. Wait til the water reaches a certain boiling point. Frog B then thinks “Ooh… it’s a bit warm in here”.
People are like Frog B in general. Today, Anna thinks Carl hates her. Tomorrow, Patrick walks up to her and told her he hates her. Anna stays the same and doesn’t mind her what her friends says. The next day, she learned that Kim and John also abhors her. Anna doesn’t realize at once the importance and the need for self improvement until the entire community hates her.
We learn our lessons when we experience pain. We finally see the warning signs and signals when things get rough and tough. When do we realize that we need to change diets? When none of our jeans and shirts would fit us. When do we stop eating candies and chocolates? When all of our teeth has fallen off. When do we realize that we need to stop smoking? When our lungs have gone bad. When do we pray and ask for help? When we realize that we’re gonna die tomorrow.
The only time most of us ever learn about unlocking our self improvement power is when the whole world is crashing and falling apart. We think and feel this way because it is not easy to change. But change becomes more painful when we ignore it.
Change will happen, like it or hate it. At one point or another, we are all going to experience different turning points in our life — and we are all going to eventually unlock our self improvement power not because the world says so, not because our friends are nagging us, but because we realized its for our own good.
Happy people don’t just accept change, they embrace it. Now, you don’t have to feel a tremendous heat before realizing the need for self improvement. Unlocking your self improvement power means unlocking yourself up in the cage of thought that “its just the way I am”. It is such a poor excuse for people who fear and resist change. Most of us program our minds like computers.
Jen repeatedly tells everyone that she doesn’t have the guts to be around groups of people. She heard her mom, her dad, her sister, her teacher tell the same things about her to other people. Over the years, that is what Jen believes. She believes its her story. And what happens? Every time a great crowd would troop over their house, in school, and in the community — she tends to step back, shy away and lock herself up in a room. Jen didn’t only believed in her story, she lived it.
Jen has to realize that she is not what she is in her story. Instead of having her story post around her face for everyone to remember, she has to have the spirit and show people “I am an important person and I should be treated accordingly!”
Self improvement may not be everybody’s favorite word, but if we look at things in a different point of view, we might have greater chances of enjoying the whole process instead of counting the days until we are fully improved. Three sessions in a week at the gym would result to a healthier life, reading books instead of looking at porns will shape up a more profound knowledge, going out with friends and peers will help you take a step back from work and unwind. And just when you are enjoying the whole process of unlocking your self improvement power, you’ll realize that you’re beginning to take things light and become happy.

Q: “I want to get back girlfriend, but I can’t figure out what this text she sent me means.”
One question that I hear a lot from guys who are trying to get back girlfriend, is that they run into trouble after they’ve taken the first step, accepting the breakup.
The first step I always suggest in how to get back girlfriend is to accept the breakup and stop trying to get back girlfriend. Begging to get back girlfriend will only push her further away and make it harder for you to actually get back girlfriend. When you show that you agree with the breakup and that you’re also moving on, it makes her regret the breakup and want to get back together with you. And then you’re one step closet to get back girlfriend.
A lot of guys to do this run into a little bit of a problem, usually around a week after they stop contacting their ex-girlfriend. Around this time they get a text message from her. You know, it’s nothing major or lovey-dovey. Usually it’s just a sort of random question, like: “Hey, I ran into so-and-so the other day and he says he hasn’t seen you in a while.”
Most guys don’t know what to do with this. Should they respond to the text message or not? It seems perfectly innocent, and she’s initiating contact, so wouldn’t that seemed to indicate that you’re about to get back girlfriend?
But the problem with answering that text is that you’re jumping the gun. Responding to that will not help you get back girlfriend. It will only undo all of your previous efforts. The reason she sent that text was because she was getting nervous that you had forgotten about her and moved on. She’s worried that you’re not interested in get back girlfriend anymore.
But since it’s a neutral message, it doesn’t mean that it you’ll get back girlfriend right now. You just have to wait a little longer and may her go out of her mind just a little bit more. If you ignore that text, she’ll start to really worry. And chances are, the next time she contacts you, she’ll be more open and to picking up the relationship.
The main thing to remember if you want to get back girlfriend is that you’re not going to respond to her until you see that she’s desperate to start up the relationship again. And you can never, ever get into a serious discussion by texting. If she sends you a text message saying she wants to talk to you, suggest that the two of you get together for lunch or coffee.
There are a whole bunch of little psychological tricks that will make her want to get back together, and you’ll only be able to pull those off in person. So you need to make sure to play your cards right if you want to get back girlfriend.

Time is a commodity we cannot replace.Very recently I realized how much I was allowing others to waste my time. I know how valuable time is and I got so tired of allowing others to waste my time that I finally decided to do something about it.
Change Your mind - Change Your Life
Learning how to recognize how I was allowing my time to be wasted has been a journey of continuous learning. As I have grown and changed I recognize more and more things that I do are a waste of my time. Years ago I used to be so proud of how much I got done. Yet, many of my activities were just busy work, not something that was allowing me to learn and grow as a person. Everyone will have different things that they do that are “busy work”. One of my biggest time wasters was TV. I had always thought it was my husband who was the big TV watcher then I realized that I used him as an excuse. When I was feeling lazy or annoyed, if he was watching TV I would simply sit down and watch it with him. After all “if he can, so can I”. Then I realized it was up to me, and only me to decide what was important in my life.
I had to decide what I wanted, what was my goal for my life. Once that came into focus for me it became much easier to recognize when I was wasting my own time or allowing others to waste it for me. I had to ask myself “what do I want my future to look like?”, then take the action that would set me on the path to that future. There have been times where I stop and ask myself “is this activity something that will assist me in achieving my goal?” If the answer is “no” then do I really want to do it? I have found that to be very useful in keeping myself on track.
This has made me realize that some of my own habits are my time wasters. My experience has been that the older we are the more our habits are ingrained. In order to change these ingrained habits the more focused we must be on the change. I have come to understand that the younger we start on this journey the shorter it will be. However it is NEVER too late to start, no one knows how long they are going to be here on this earth.
Now I ask myself “am I using my time in order to make my own way prosperous or am I cursing my own path?” I believe that watching TV was cursing my path, it was contributing nothing to my life. How we spend our time is always our own choice. I had a conversation recently with a friend who said that she did not have a choice in how she spent her time. Her brother was very sick and she had to spend time with him. When I disagreed with her that she still had a choice she was quite upset with me. However when I explained what I meant she agreed. She loves her brother dearly, wants to spend time with him and assist him anywhere she can. That is her choice to support her brother, she said yes, she would rather spend time with him right now than anything else. I have another friend whose sister was sick many years ago, they did not get along well. Her choice was not to spend time with her sick sister. It is always our choice how we spend our time. In this example the decision of where to spend the time was based on the relationship.
Its time to take action: Write down a list of what you do in a day. Then write down the items from the list that are important to you. This will allow you to recognize how you spend your time and provide you with the information you need in order to make the decision of how to spend your time an informed one.
Scheduling our time is a success habit. Do you believe you would you be able to just “drop in” on Oprah or Donald Trump? I learned from my strategic business coach, John Di Lemme, just how important a planner/scheduler is! As much as we want to believe we will remember everything, we don’t. We are, after all, human. We are bombarded with so much information every second of our lives we will never remember everything. Today I even write down the small details in my “million dollar planner” such as remember to pick up the dry cleaning. The beauty of using the planner this way is it frees up space in my brain.
I wrote it down, we don’t need to remember anymore. We can now concentrate our time on something else, perhaps something that will take us down the prosperous path.
Are you willing to leave your comfort zone in order to have more time in your life? Are you struggling in the wrong place? Are you tired of being tired? I know that for me some of that “tired” came from attempting to hold too many things in my brain. Buying that planner and putting it to use in your life is a success habit. You can be as scheduled as you like. I have found that the more scheduled I am the more time I have and then the more scheduled I become. Gives me a wonderful feeling to be caught up in a great empowering circle rather than the vicious negative ones I used to be in.

Time is the most valuable but least controlled asset for any business organization. Time management training seeks to maximize the amount of work done for the limited time that is available for the enterprise. Every person in the office hierarchy would benefit from undergoing time management training. In return, one can expect that the person who received training would be able to manage their time properly and become a more productive individual in the workplace.
The fact is we cannot control time. Once the second ticks past, it cannot be brought back. We can only work within the constraints of time and it is in this context that time management training has its value. By training staff members to handle their respective workloads within the framework of time allowed, businesses can do more and gain more in the long run. To simplify, the aim of time management training is to exercise work teams to handle deadlines effectively towards a more productive business.
Time management does not only benefit the business. Those who take the time to train for time management also gains valuable insights into managing time effectively in relation to their personal and family lives. One can therefore find a balance in their work-life situations which in turn helps them to be more less stressed, stable and happy individuals.
Time Management for Businesses
The main complaint in a lot of office environments these days is the amount of backlog that may have accumulated with regards to the work of individual staff members. This is the tell-tale symptom that the worker has too much work than he can actually handle or that something is lacking in terms of the worker’s time management capabilities.
When left unchecked, you may not even notice it but these backlogs can become a huge burden for the entire business organization. That is why it is highly recommended to have every staff member, especially with new personnel as part of their orientation, to undergo at least some form of rudimentary time management training. With that in place, your staff will not have an excuse for having backlogs at work.
For management and top executives, time management training is all the more imperative as these are the positions that are usually the busiest in the company. Here, setting priorities and delegation play very important roles. When management are unavailable, aspects of the business may be overlooked which could be detrimental to its performance.
The Relevance of Training
The scope of time management encompasses everything about a business — from day to day operations, to holding of meetings, execution of projects to housekeeping activities. Everyone spends time at tasks and more often than not have deadlines to meet.
Hence, time management becomes relevant for everybody in the office. Time management training is a singular learning experience that is important for anyone who exchanges their time for producing other products or services that are of value to others. With this, it can be said that business and time management training are inseparable and should always go hand in hand to ensure success.

Juicy CV Writing Tips Part 1
The Internet has changed the way we do business today, unlike a few years ago when paper and pen was the standard. “Just because your CV is nice on paper, it doesn’t mean it’s nice on a computer.”
Research has been done lately on more than 2, 500 recruiters from a variety of industries about what they see on CVs that they just can’t stand, so we’ve compiled a short summary of the 10 biggest mistakes to avoid when writing your CV or Resume. This is what the industry is saying, so it’s advised that you listen to it.
Below are the 10 biggest mistakes from the survey and some guidance notes to help you steer clear from making the same mistakes on your CV:
1. Spelling Errors, Typos and Bad Grammar
Everyone loves “Spell Check” obviously, but unfortunately it won’t catch all the errors or mistakes. “Manger” is a correctly spelled term, but it means something completely different and unrelated to “manager. Pay attention and be present to those buzzwords that may be related to your field.
2. Duty - Oriented Overkill
If you’re using your current employer’s Job description, congratulations you’ve just lost the whole point of your CV. Employers are quite well informed so it’s likely that they already know what the job is; your CV should highlight your accomplishments in that particular position. It is advised that you show what you’ve really done by outlining the process, outcomes and effect that are specific to you.
3. Repetition
The fastest and surest way to irritate the person reading your CV is by using and re-using the equivalent subset of verbs. For example, if you list a few jobs in the section containing your Professional Experience, make sure that they don’t all begin with “Responsibilities I had… “. On the same letter, they shouldn’t all begin with “Developed and Created… “Either! As simple as this advice sounds, many CV’s have a tendency to include more than a mouthful of unnecessary and overused verbs.
4. Inaccurate or Lost Dates
Potential Employers need to know exactly when and where you’ve worked before so that they can better evaluate your application and qualifications and also perform the correct background checks to see if you’ll qualify for the relevant job that you’ve applied for. Misplaced and incorrect dates that cover a long period of time, will result in the recruiter having to investigate and therefore the CV may become obsolete because of it.
5. Imperfect and Missing Contact Data
Be sure that every Resume you send has the correct contact information, including name, mobile and phone numbers, and also the correct email address. Recruiters don’t have the time to look you up; they’ll quickly move on to the next candidate in line.
6. Personal Facts Unrelated to the Work
Many Recruiters are short on time so it’s recommended that you don’t want to distract them with your age, peak, weight and interests unless they’re directly relevant to the work you want to do.
7. Very Long CVs
Almost all recruiters and employers won’t think twice on this and won’t have the time to read them. Focus on the skills and accomplishments that directly apply to the undertaking you’re trying to achieve. Every point counts so do not dwell on the specifics of each topic, but advisably highlight the points relevant and specific to you.
8. Don’t Be Too Creative
There is certainly no need to go overboard. Using words like “ameliorated” and “edification “in your resume is overkill. Simplicity and conciseness are keys to building mighty CV’s. By using too many big words you risk coming across as vain, patronizing, and flippant (sort of like this sentence). No employer is in the mood to pull out a dictionary just to find out what you did at your last assignment.
9. Functional CVs
Wherever possible, it’s highly advised you go with a chronological CV and centre on the skills and accomplishments that are relevant to the job position you’re pursuing. Generally most people are pretty active and manage to keep their work skills going. Use that information to fill in the gaps.
10. Flashy CV designs
Flashy designs are almost guaranteed to hit the rubbish bin immediately. Unless you are a model or a customer - service applicant do not even think about using a photograph. Avoid colours, text effects and unusual fonts because the employer simply cannot process them.
Follow this rule if you want your CV to succeed: keep the appearance simple because it is the quality of the content that resonates with recruiters and makes them want to meet you. No bravado will ever impress them - they have seen every gimmick in the book and they are sick of looking at them twenty times a day.
